I was a very active kid when I was younger. From ballet to gymnastics, netball and touch football. I loved competing in everything and anything. Once I started working, life got busy and I wasn’t training as much as I use to. It got to a point where I wasn’t happy with my health, how I looked and how I was feeling on the inside.

This changed when I bought a single pass to the gym to do a group exercise class. It was at that moment I fell in love with training and eventually inspired to teach. I stopped hanging around toxic friends that didn’t really care about me and just wanted to party all the time and I started to make new friends at the gym who were just like me. I really connected with the teacher and I thought one day I want to be just like her. She was strong, healthy and full of energy and inspired me to start my journey of studying health and fitness.

Most of my time was spent now learning about nutrition, exercises and everything to do with being able to teach the classes. I became a Les Mills instructor for Body Attack, Body Pump and Body Balance. I then went on to study Pilates which has really changed how I work as a personal trainer. Pilates is the perfect base for all types of training and it can help everyone no matter what your goal or your injuries are.

My body really started to change shape once I included weight training regularly and infusing pilates and stretching to keep my body athletic and feminine.

I now train people 1 on 1 full time and I absolutely love it. I have an easy going attitude towards training and nutrition as I feel it is so much more sustainable and it makes me so happy when I see my clients changing their lifestyles and sustaining it years later. Being able to reach out to more girls and help them achieve what they want is my goal now with Sculpt Sisters. When you are more confident with how you look and feel it makes a huge difference to your life.

My health and fitness journey started at a very young age. At the age of 5, I started dancing lessons. I attended classes in classical ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary dance. This occupied many evenings of my schooling weeks and most Saturdays. It was here where my passion for fitness and exercise first took place.

I was extremely committed up until I was 18 years old. In my last year of high school my dancing came to an end when I moved from a small town to the city for University. I went on to study a bachelor of creative arts. It was in this phase of my early adulthood when I suddenly stumbled. My fitness had taken a back seat role in my life and my social life proved to take a much higher preference. I would rarely miss any social event or occasion and did not realize that along with a busy social calendar came binge drinking and eating, bad sleeping patterns and overall very unhealthy lifestyle. I was eating far too much fast food and processed food. My exercise consisted of only a walk every now and then. I was uneducated on the dangers of an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. I also noticed my whole body start to change in a bad way.

I felt sluggish. I had poor energy and bad sleeping patterns. I hated the way my body was changing and how unhealthy I felt on the inside.

Going from healthy and fit to exactly the opposite puts it all into perspective because you know how amazing you are capable of feeling and how easily bad choices can have a HUGE negative impact on your whole life. This lifestyle had to change!

I joined a big gym for the first time and finally started to exercise again. Straight away I fell in love with group classes and tried everything and anything I possibly could.

I limited my social drinking to just on the weekends and started to make some small changes each week to improve my diet. The gym was my savior. I was so fascinated with the amount of variety there was when it came to exercise and training. I was so hungry to learn more and to find out how I can help people just like myself get back on track.

At university I successfully completed my Bachelor degree and to peruse my interest in the fitness industry I quickly enrolled in the Australian institute of fitness to complete my qualifications to become a certified personal trainer. I have been working in the fitness industry now full time since 2007. I have continued to study everything and anything that comes my way in this ever-changing industry. I am so passionate about every aspect of what I do and between teaching many classes a week, and training my clients I am rewarded every single day knowing I am helping many others on their own journey towards a healthier and more active lifestyle.

In 2013 I decided to challenge myself and competed in my first natural body building competition as a fitness model competitor. I was fortunate enough to place 3rd and went on to compete in more competitions with many large Australian federations. Here I learnt that with commitment, dedication and hard work, the sky is the limit. Some of the highlights for me included winning overall Ms Sydney Sports Model in the INBA 2013 Championships and placing 3rd at 2014 ANB Nationals.

Your health is the platform that your entire life is built on. The next goal I have is to be able to reach and help hundreds of females worldwide towards creating a better version of themselves whether that be loosing weight, feeling more energized, staying motived or just feeling happier in their own skin.

With my first baby arriving on November 7th 2016, it has been such an exciting year. I could not feel more blessed! Having now experienced the journey of pregnancy myself, I can’t wait to be able to share and also help other prenatal women through their own journey including the next big challenge; how we then juggle life, work, parenthood and fitness into a busy schedule.

Life is full of obstacles and life is beautiful. Nothing is impossible and no matter what your goal is, how big or small, you are more than capable and have everything you need to achieve exactly what you want. Each day from the moment you wake up, envision what it is you want the most and make the decision to work for it. Believe in it with everything that you have everyday, commit to it, and your goals will become your reality.
